For Anglicans, the Daily Office forms the foundation of how we see weekly, systematic prayer. Based on the monastic “hours”, our Prayer Book provides us with five different services during the day where we may set ourselves apart for prayer (BCP, pg. 35) The two foundational services in the Daily Office are Morning and Evening Prayer.
I have from time to time trained anyone interested in how to “read” Morning Prayer and use the daily lectionary. This offer stands open to anyone (member or attendee) who would like such direction. If there is enough interest, I would be willing to teach a class on the same. In addition, I have also created introductory booklets for those who would like a more abbreviated approach to beginning Morning Prayer. Both the “Intro to Morning Prayer” and “Intermediate Guide to Morning Prayer” can be found in our booklet stands found at each entrance to our building. See .pdf versions at the below links:
In our next article, we will consider other ways to supplement and aid us as we journey in discipleship to Jesus, personally seeking and knowing our God.
See you Sunday,
Fr. Tom

CURRENT OFFICE HOURS
As we look for a new Office Administrator, please feel free to e-mail and call the office as usual. Emails to the office will be answered more readily, but Fr. Tom will also be checking voicemail. The general office hours will be Tuesday – Thursday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, but it is always best to call first if you are going to stop by, as Fr. Tom’s schedule can change readily depending on need or context.
