St. Matthew’s Good News – 9/22/2023

I worked this week setting up the beginnings of a reference and lending library in the parish hall. Until someone else emerges, I will be our lay-library representative. Please use me as an aid and reference to help as you seek to better understand Holy Scripture, the context of the ancient world, or our tradition as Episcopalians—most of the works that are currently shelved came from a separate space in our basement. We will look to add more books in the future. Please do not add to this library without first communicating with me.

Lastly, while we prefer that communicants drink from the Common Cup during the celebration of Holy Communion, we understand that many are more comfortable having the Eucharistic Minister intincting (dipping) the host for you. When intincting the host for you, the Eucharistic Minister will assume that you are receiving the intincted wafer on the tongue. However, please put your hand out if you would prefer to put the intincted wafer in your mouth on your own.

I look forward to worshipping with you all on Sunday.
